Networking is a crucial aspect of EPICS-based control system development, enabling reliable communication between devices and ensuring efficient data exchange in industrial and scientific environments.

This full-day training expands on fundamental networking principles by covering both theoretical concepts and practical applications. The workshop is structured into interactive lectures, hands-on exercises, and assessments to strengthen participants' knowledge. Key topics include OSI model, network devices, Layer 2 and Layer 3 communication, IP addressing, VLAN configuration, and essential network protocols for EPICS-based control systems. The hands-on sessions will guide participants through basic and advanced network configurations, troubleshooting, and real-world applications.
